Entdecken Sie PLATE LIV: eine historische anatomische Zeichnung, die den Bewegungsapparat des menschlichen Fußes und Sprunggelenks veranschaulicht. Sie zeigt Ansichten von oben, von der Seite und von vorn mit beschrifteten Sehnen, Knochen und Gelenken. Ein seltener Fund für Sammler, Pädagogen und Physiotherapeuten.

Ein originaler, 200 Jahre alter, handkolorierter Kupferstich aus einem System anatomischer Tafeln des menschlichen Körpers. Edinburgh: [1823–1827] von John Lizars.

Ungefähre Größe: Folio (434 x 270 mm).

John Lizars studierte bei dem Edinburgher Chirurgen John Bell und lehrte später Anatomie und Chirurgie in Edinburgh. Sein Bruder William Home Lizars (1788–1859) fertigte alle Kupferstiche an. „Die Herstellung des Buches war kostspielig, da die Stiche und Radierungen, wie üblich, sehr zeitaufwendig waren und die Kolorierung sorgfältig und gekonnt von Hand erfolgte“ (Roberts und Tomlinson, The Fabric of the Body, S. 504–505). „Dieser hervorragende Atlas zählt zweifellos zu den elegantesten Werken des 19. Jahrhunderts“ (Cushing L313). Erben des Hippokrates 1436; Waller 5950; Wellcome III: 531.
