A pair of well proportioned early to mid 19th Century pastel & charcoal portraits of a Lady and Gentleman. With complimenting composition (Left hand / Right hand) these accomplished likenesses were most likely commissioned to be hung together. Unsigned. (Provenance ex Careston Castle, Forfarshire, Scotland)
The ornate moulded gilt frames are in original untouched condition and have some wear commensurate with age. (losses & nibbles) Over all size including frames 31.5 inches ( 80cm) x 26 inches (66cm) A good decorator piece.
