This rare 19th-century antique medical illustration is an original colour lithograph print from Illustrations of the Anatomy of the Human Body by George Henry Ford (1808–1876). Created in London, circa 1866, the plate shows the muscles and vascular structure of the upper leg, drawn life-size from actual dissections and printed in true-to-nature color. Ford’s meticulous technique exemplifies the scientific precision and artistic mastery of Victorian anatomical art. A striking and educational piece for collectors, medical historians, or admirers of fine antique anatomical prints.
Dimensions: 55cm × 37cm. Condition: Good clear bright strong image. Foxing and staining right hand margin -consistent with age and use in 19th-century surgical training. Corners trimmed.
