A striking signed oil on canvas by British artist Orlando Greenwood, - Portrait of Madonna. Greenwood became a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1922, and exhibited extensively at the Royal Academy (1920–1933), the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, as well as at prestigious London galleries including Colnaghi, Beaux Arts, The Groupil Salon, Leicester, and Grosvenor.
His career also encompassed acclaimed poster designs for the London Underground and Great Western Railway, and commissions for London institutions such as Liberty and Whiteleys. A centenary exhibition of his work was held at The Bloomsbury Workshop in 1992.
