An attractive terrestrial globe by George Philips & Son Ltd, Fleet Street, London.
Circa 1925 showing all the continents and countries. Also indicated are the principal steamship routes with distances in nautical miles, principal transcontinental railroads and airmail routes as they were at time of printing.
Lithographically printed in colour, mounted on a brass semi-meridian attached to the original turned and ebonized base the globe comprises twelve coated paper gores over a 12 inch card sphere. A cartouche bears the makers name and address.
The condition and colour are commensurate with age, expect minor imperfections throughout i.e. areas of discolouring and light rubbing to paper in places which we have endeavoured to illustrate.
