Anatomy Plate 15 – Antique Medical Illustration, Circa 1844
This original 19th-century anatomical plate, printed in London for Taylor & Walton, official booksellers and publishers to the University of London, is a fine example of early medical illustration. Produced circa 1844, the colour lithograph was originally created as a teaching aid for medical students, combining scientific accuracy with visual clarity.
Now approaching 200 years in age, the plate may display light, age-appropriate signs of use such as gentle toning, foxing, or minor edge wear—characteristics consistent with authentic antique medical prints and contributing to its historical authenticity and charm.
Dimensions: 49cm × 31 cm
Condition: This antique print is in good vintage condition, showing the expected signs of age consistent with a 19th‑century engraving. Light toning, minor edge wear, and small marks may be present, all typical for original plates of this period. These characteristics do not detract from the artwork and instead enhance its authenticity and historical charm. The image remains clear, detailed, and well‑preserved.
Carefully hand rolled and securely packaged in a protective cardboard tube. Fully tracked and insured shipping via Royal Mail.
