An early and rare set of three hand coloured engravings illustrating pioneering surgery of the head & neck. Used as a teaching aid for medical students, continental in origin and published circa 1824 - 1830 the graphically detailed content exemplifies close collaboration between Surgeon & Artist (often the same person) and drawn post mortem. Colours remain strong with light foxing and toning throughout. (3)
