Collection: Frederick Carl Frieseke Wall Art Prints
Frederick Carl Frieseke was an American Impressionist painter born on April 7, 1874, in Owosso, Michigan. After studying at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York, he moved to Paris in 1898.
Influenced by James McNeill Whistler and the French Impressionists, particularly Pierre Auguste Renoir, Frieseke became known for his vibrant depictions of women and sunlit scenes.
He spent much of his career in Giverny, France, near Claude Monet's residence, painting in a style characterized by bright, colorful palettes and a focus on outdoor light and garden settings.
His work earned numerous awards and recognition, including a gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 and membership in the French Legion of Honour in 1920.
Frieseke remained in France until his death on August 24, 1939
