Victorian era leather dispatch case from a private "Lunatic Asylum", Norwich, Norfolk. A very interesting medical related artefact from the early days of mental healthcare in England.

In good condition for age with straps and buckles in working order with inscription to front on brass plaque " Heigham Hall".

Minor stress fractures to the leather particularly around the bottom edge and the flap and there are some scuffs and numerous old marks commensurate with age. The reverse is designed so that a strap or belt could be attached perhaps for use when travelling by horse.

Dimensions: 38cm wide x 33cm high x 6cm deep.
