Surprisingly comfortable this fully functional and adjustable barber’s chair dates from circa 1900. The back has a brass mechanism to tilt the chair backwards and a padded head rest with adjustable height. With fluted top rail and uprights and a leather covered vase shaped splat held in place by brass studs. The arms having padded elbows and shaped supports above a Thonet style embossed (faded) and serpentine fronted seat. All standing on slightly out swept back legs united by a turned stretcher, and turned legs at the front with ebonised finish.
