An extremely decorative and heavy embossed piece of architectural salvage / hardware.
Possibly part of a 19th century ceiling mounted whale oil lamp ? A very attractive piece of period metalware that could be repurposed with a little bit of imagination. ( mirror frame ?) Very heavy gilded in brass over base metal.
