A large mid 19th Century Portrait oil on canvas, unframed, of a young girl wearing a red dress sitting upon the lap of an elderly lady - perhaps her Grandmother or Governess. The young girl holds a toy whip. A well proportioned and charming painting of the period.
The picture is in entirely untouched condition with no restoration and showing an even amount of craquelure to its surface. There are a few minor areas of flaked losses at outer extremities (top and bottom) and it remains un-cleaned by us. (Please examine the photographs). Unframed. Unsigned.
