First designed by Robert Dudley Best in the 1930s, the original Bestlite table lamp was celebrated in the prominent Architects’ Journal as the first example of Bauhaus design in the UK.
This mid century example with pale yellow powder-coated matt finish base has a replacement glass lampshade fitted and is free from any significant damage with some minor signs of use commensurate with age.The adjustable arm is easy to move and stays in place without any unwanted sliding movement.
Reach extends to maximum distance 48cm and an adjustable vertical height of 51cm to 82cm. Base is 22cm diameter.
