A wonderful unrestored and as found "Grand Tour" carved wood figure of a Putto dating from the late 17th/ early 18th century. Standing on one leg with head turned to side this piece has been exquisitely carved by a master craftsman in the classical style. Most likely Italian.
In fragmentary state with obvious losses, splits , little original paint remaining and standing on a later base this piece still exudes all the beauty and wonder from its former life.
