A fine early 20th Century small crocodile travel case by Mappin & Webb.
The light tan outer and stitching have been well preserved over time by the original canvas protector cover. The clean interior is showing some signs of wear to the silk lining commensurate with use. The inner rim is stamped in gold Mappin & Webb, London, Paris, Rome.
From their early beginning in 1774, London based Mappin & Webb are still renowned today as purveyors of luxury goods and holders of Royal Warrants.
