A well presented group (three) of sea fan coral specimens on turned mahogany bases harking back to the era of the Grand Tour and natural history collecting. The phenomena of the private Wunderkammer, literally translated from German as a 'room of wonder' was once solely the preserve of the upper classes.
This appealing trio would make an interesting addition to any 'Cabinet of Curiosities' within any eclectic interior setting of today.
The three antique specimens are superimposed upon later 19th Century turned oak bases.
