A well executed study of angling / field sports interest signed J Irvine and dated 1913. Possibly the River South Esk at Montrose Basin, Scotland.
Depicting a catch of brown trout laying on the riverbank next to a wicker creel the detail of the fish is outstandingly realistic. A very desirable and collectible subject for the angling enthusiast and would add country charm to any study, man cave or restaurant setting. Oil on canvas in unrestored, found condition (minor age related wear).
